I started this blog in 2009 as a way of sharing my thoughts and opinions on issues. My hope was, and remains that it also be a forum for others to share ideas and engage in a civil dialogue.

I was able to post the link on Facebook and Twitter, later I will copy over the comments that were posted there.
I hope you enjoy it, like I said I thought I'd try something new (the video). Thank you for taking the time to visit my Blog and I look forward to your feedback and thoughts.
The following was a comment posted by my brother, Tom Mann, last night when I posted the video on Facebook and Twitter (I wasn't able to upload it to the blog at the time.
"Hey Jim. I love it. The new video blog. And as I'm sure you would guess, I didn't agree with everything. But it was very well done. I did really like the part about people used to be able to disagree and still talk. But as you said in your blog, today people shut out anyone who disagrees with them. If I could put in my 2 cents(O no), today so many Obama haters look back and talk about how great Ronald Reagan was(and as you remember, I was a big Reagan supporter). But Reagan had two things going for him. #1-the opposition party had a leader, Tip O'Niel, who would work with him, not try to block him. AND #2- all Americans, even those who did not vote for him, still wanted him to do well. I can say this about our country. Too many Americans(not all, but alot) built a financial house of cards between 2005-2008. Too much real estate, too much credit. Not only did people buy homes more pricey then they should have. Many also took out equity lines and bought Hummers, big screen TV's, ect. In 2008, the house of cards collapsed. In Nov. 2008, there was an election. Who ever won(Obama or McCann) would walk into a mess. As an American, I voted for Obama but I felt whoever won, we all should get behind and hope they do well. Well that didn't happen. There were so many Americans who were hoping for Obama's demise before he even took office. Both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity said they hoped Obama's presidency would be a failure before he even took office. WHY?. If McCann had won, my request for my congressman would be to work with him and lets get this mess cleaned up. But their are too many Americans who have fought this president every step of the way. One thing I really want to see is an end to the fill-a-buster. All these people who quote the founding fathers. Well, the founding fathers never meant for a 41% minority to be able to block a 59% majority. I want congress to have their debates, take their vote, and what ever side wins, lets go with it. Enough grid-lock. And the same goes for the American people. Have you debates, cast your votes, and who ever wins, Obama or Romney, lets get behind them. Enough of this "sore looser" mentality. Any ways, great video Jim. Can't wait for the next one.
